The development team behind ‘Your LIC’ is hosting a virtual fifth workshop on Tuesday, June 30, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The topic will be “Density & Uses: Comprehensive Planning for an Inclusive LIC.”
The virtual workshop, like the others, will be facilitated by Dr. Gail Mellow, former president of LaGuardia Community College, and Bishop Mitchell Taylor of Urban Upbound.
Participants will be asked to discuss ideas about density and mix of uses for the 28-acre waterfront site in Long Island City.
There will also be breakout discussions on these topics:
- Height and density
- Urban design
- Tech and innovation
- Resilience and energy
- Mixed-use planning and regional impacts
The ‘YourLIC’ public engagement process kicked off last November, and was forced to move online earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
