Maloney joins Queens Together for food pantry at Variety

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney stopped by the Variety Boys and Girls Club of Queens on Thursday afternoon to check out the new food pantry efforts.

Starting last month, Variety partnered with Queens Together, a new organization battling food insecurity and assisting local restaurants, to give out supplies of fresh produce, pantry items and prepared meals for up to 300 families.

The distribution is held weekly at the Variety Boys and Girls Club.

Maloney sat down with Josh Lee, aka Farmer Josh from Green Top Farms in Long Island City, as well as Jonathan Forgash, the executive director of Queens Together.

Half a dozen outreach workers were also at the event, led by western Queens community leader Vanessa Jones-Hall, a member of Community Board 1.
