Long Island City Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney has asked the U.S. Postmaster Paul Stremel to conduct a re-evaluation on the feasibility of a full-service post office in Dutch Kills.
Maloney first requested an evaluation for a USPS facility in February. The Post Service determined that the existing facilities met the neighborhood’s needs.
But given the growth of the Long Island City community, particularly in areas like Dutch Kills, it’s worth examining again.
The three nearest post offices are at Plaza Station, 30th and 21st Street, and 43rd Street and Broadway.
