The Queens Public Library Tech Lab at Queensbridge has launched a new community science project, a series of workshops designed to explore local urban ecology.
Starting June 1 and ending on July 20, the eight-week program is open to all ages with an emphasis on teens and families.
Students will work with science educators and technology such as Airbeams and microscopes to explore air, water and soil quality in the neighborhood.
Other activities include conducting research on a BioBus, participating in urban ecology walks and connecting with neighbors to discuss indoor air quality.
The workshops will discuss topics like air pollution, asthma, composting and air gardens.
